This document is intended to lay out general guidelines and guild conduct.  It will cover the attitude in which DA guild members should maintain toward each other, as well as how DA guild members should be representing themselves and the guild on a day to day basis.

Guild Atmosphere

Delegated Authority is a guild founded and populated by people intent on progressing through and conquering endgame raiding content in World of Warcraft. Our approach to maintaining a positive and productive atmosphere is to foster guild friendships and encourage respect and recognition for the contributions of all of our members. Each and every raider has an important role in the success of our raids, and it is our hope that each member, by understanding how they fit into this larger picture, will see fit to prepare and act accordingly. Success in endgame content hinges on the guild and its members challenging themselves at every turn, and we are interested in the people who will thrive on this challenge.

Attitude

When you carry the Delegated Authority guild tag, you represent all of us.  Therefore, we expect our members to treat all players with respect.  You don't have to like them, but you are expected to be courteous.  We discourage our members from trolling trade, public degradation, and any other form of disrespect.  Any violation of this is strictly prohibited.

Guild Management

While not strictly a democracy, DA cares about your opinions as a raider as well as an active member of our guild. From time to time, we will issue guild wide discussions on policies and certain aspects of our guild atmosphere, in which we intend for you to participate and take an active role in. We're currently going through a slight reformatting of our raiding policies and overall guild setup, which will happen from time to time. We understand that as a guild, we are managing a diverse group of people, and we work hard to make sure that not only your voice is heard, but your opinions always taken into consideration. In all cases, we strive to make policies as simple as possible. We expect members to keep in touch with the current state of affairs and visit the forums frequently. All members are expected to comply with any policy put in place, whether they agree with it or not: policies are put in place for the well-being of the guild.

Leadership

Delegated Authority is Managed by a team of people devoted to the common goal of progression, and making sure that all of us view and conquer available end game content, and have fun while doing it.  Our Leadership consists of 5 Authorities, who vote majority rule on issues directly concerning the guild.  This allows for every angle of an argument to be heard before making a final decision.  Alongside our Authorities we have several Delegates, who work specifically within their primary roles, helping melee, ranged, healers, and tanks all optimize their abilities, and overall, become better, more skilled players.  Both Authorities and Delegates take an constant and active role in our raids, as well as the day to day of the guild, if you have any questions regarding any aspect of the DA atmosphere, please feel free to ask any of us, we're here for our members.

Raiding Atmosphere

Attendance

As a raider in Delegated Authority, you are required to attend 75% of our raids (3/4 raids a week). We understand that from time to time, Real Life happens unexpectedly. If you signed-up for a raid and something comes up, we expect you to contact us PRIOR to raid time either through the Shoutbox, The Notification thread, or via In Game Mail to one of our Authorities.

Take a look at our Raid Schedule here!

Focus

When we raid, we raid to win.  The primary focus of our members is to conquer the highest level of end game raiding.  If you are someone who wishes to half ass content, afk during raids, or not come prepared with knowledge of the strats and encounters, this is not the place for you.

Participation

We understand that 4 hours is a large chunk of time to set aside for continuous play, We have 2 designated breaks during our progression content, a five minute break at ~7:30 (PST), and a 10 minute break at ~8:50 (PST).  We ask that unless it is a direct emergency, you try to keep to our schedule, as not to interrupt the momentum of the raid.  If you decide to constantly afk without warning, show up late for a ready check after the break is over, or cause us to wait for you in any fashion, the result will be removal from the raid for the night.  Repeat occurrences will put your raiding spot in permanent jeopardy.

Loot

For our progression raids, we use an EPGP loot system.

All raiders are required to download the EPGP lootmaster addon PRIOR to your first raid with us.  To learn more about EPGP and how the system works, and to get the link to the required addons, please click the link above.

Preparedness

Don't show up empty handed to a raid and expect us to keep inviting you. The rule of thumb is consider what your class would need to consume over the next 4 hours of raiding and bring double. The list of items you will need for each raid include:  Flasks/Elixirs, ABILITY Enhancing potions, Your own stat food (Although we use fish feasts, if you miss it, we aren't dropping another just for you), and any class specific items such as soul shards, etc.  You will also be required to know all strats, encounters, and class specific responsibilities for all content that we are progressing through.  Don't come to a raid unprepared.

Vent

If you don't have vent with a mic, get them both before you bother applying. We require all of our raid members to use vent regularly. But please respect the other 24 people in the channel. Mindless banter, narrating your life, or screaming about how hard your shadow bolt crit is NOT acceptable during raids (Any other time however, GO FOR IT!). You MUST be in vent and be capable of using it during our raids.

Spoiler (hover to show)

Application Acceptance

Should you be accepted, you will be granted a trial period (Initiate Rank) for the first one to two weeks (or until 10000EP is earned: ~2 weeks).  Please take this time to get acquainted with us, as we will be doing the same with you. Know that as an Initiate, you are held to the exact same expectations as the rest of the guild, and each action, whether positive or negative, can highly influence your time here.  Please make sure that you are ready for raids with flasks/elixirs, potions, a positive attitude, and a drive towards success.  Hover over the Spoiler above if you haven't already!

It's like any other game. If you sit down for a game of chess and start eating the pieces...that's wrong. You can sit there all day and eat chess pieces and call it "your way" of playing chess. But it's still dumb.
